GIF exports are a silent animated loop — no audio track, and colors are reduced to a maximum of 256 per frame. Larger sizes, longer durations, and higher frame rates all mean a bigger file.
How this works
- Nothing is uploaded. Your beat and artwork are decoded and rendered entirely on your device, in this browser tab. They are never sent to a server.
- Keep this tab open while exporting. If your computer goes to sleep or the tab is closed, the export stops and you'll need to start it again — there's no server-side job to resume from.
- Backgrounding the tab (switching to another tab) is usually fine and export continues, but browsers can slow down background tabs, so exports may take longer than in preview.
- MP4 exports are genuine .mp4 files (H.264 video + AAC audio), produced by your browser's own video encoder — checked before each export starts. GIF exports are silent, reduced-color animated loops.
- Video artwork export is Experimental. It tries a faster one-pass capture of your clip first and falls back automatically to a slower, frame-by-frame sampling method if that isn't possible in your browser — either way, it renders slower and less predictably than still or GIF artwork. If export seems to be taking a while with video artwork, that's expected, not stuck; for the fastest, most reliable exports, use an image or GIF instead.
